Make Your RV Last

You can’t keep your RV forever, and probably don’t want to.  However, there are things that you can do as the owner to make it last longer.  These are 7 ways to keep your RV newer:

  1. Regular Maintenance: Regular maintenance is key to keeping your RV in good condition. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks.
  2. Cleanliness: Keeping your RV clean is important to prevent damage from dirt and grime. Regularly clean the interior and exterior of your RV, including the roof, to prevent buildup of dirt, debris, and pollutants.
  3. Lubrication: Keeping moving parts lubricated is important to prevent wear and tear. Make sure to lubricate slide-outs, awning arms, and other moving parts regularly to keep them working smoothly.
  4. Winterization: If you live in an area with cold winters, it's important to properly winterize your RV to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Drain the water system, add antifreeze, and cover the RV to protect it from the elements.
  5. Tire Care: Proper tire care is essential for the safety of your RV. Check tire pressure regularly, rotate tires as recommended by the manufacturer, and replace tires when necessary.
  6. Battery Maintenance: The battery is a vital component of your RV. Make sure to check the battery regularly, and keep it clean and charged to prevent damage and prolong its life.
  7. Proper Storage: When not in use, store your RV in a safe and secure location to prevent damage from weather, theft, and vandalism. Cover it with a protective cover to prevent damage from the elements.
  8. Exterior Protection: Protect the exterior of your RV from the sun, rain, and other elements by applying a wax or sealant. This will help to prevent fading, cracking, and other damage.
  9. Inspect the Roof: The roof of your RV is exposed to the elements and can suffer from damage. Regularly inspect the roof for signs of damage or wear, and repair any issues as soon as possible.
  10. Check for Leaks: Water leaks can cause serious damage to your RV. Check for leaks regularly, and repair any issues promptly to prevent water damage to the interior.

These steps will allow you to enjoy more time in your RV home!
